Luke 4:16-21 Christ stopped before reading "The day of vengeance." This was future. "This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears." Christ fed His people with meat in due season.
GOOD TIDINGS IS THE GOSPEL
All that Jesus taught is the Gospel
1 Peter 1:11 The Old Testament is from Christ. It is part of the Gospel.
Matthew 28:19,20 "Teaching them to observe all things I commanded." The commandments are part of the Gospel.
Mark 16:15 "Preach Gospel."
Revelation 14:12 "The faith (teaching - doctrine) of Jesus" = "The Everlasting Gospel."
2 John 1:9 "Whosoever transgresses and abides not in the doctrine of Christ has not God."

ACCEPTABLE YEAR OF THE LORD
2 Corinthians 5:21-6:2 “Now is the accepted time. This is the Acceptable Year. Note! The time for acceptance, is likened to a "year" in contrast to “the day of vengeance.” The mercy of God far out reaches His "strange work" - the work of destruction.
THE "GOOD TIDINGS" ARE FOR ALL.
John 1: 9 "True Light which lights every man that comes into the world."

John 7:17 "If any man will do His will he shall know of the doctrine."

MANY ARE CALLED, BUT FEW ARE CHOSEN
Matt 22:14 All are called, but few accept.
Proverbs 1:24 "Because I have called, and you refused. Our Lord is now rejected and by the world disowned.”
THE DAY OF VENGEANCE
"The acceptable year" = From the Fall to the Close of Probation = 6,000 years.
"The Day of Vengeance” - This period extends from the Seven Last Plagues to the lake of fire = 1000 years.
2 Peter 3: 10 "The day of the Lord will come.” Will come - 24 times in Bible. It may seem slow but it is sure. "A Great Noise" = Great Explosion. The Air is composed of two main gases. Oxygen - There can be no fire without it. Nitrogen - This is the basis of dynamite and TNT. The very word nitroglycerine tells the story.
Isaiah 34:8-10 "The Day of the Lord's Vengeance." The streams and dust turned to "burning Pitch" It is unquenchable - it cannot be put out, but it will burn out.

Isaiah 34:2-4 "The indignation of the Lord is upon all nations."
Isaiah 47:13, 14 Astrology cannot save.
Psalm 37:9-13 “The wicked plots against the just," but "His day is coming."
Psalm 37:34 "When the wicked are cut off thou shall see it." - The renewed earth.
Psalm 37:35 "I have seen the wicked in great power and spreading himself like a green bay tree."
Acts 12:22-24 Herod appeared great, so did Nero, Atheists, and critics, but the Day of the Lord is coming.
2 Peter 3:11-14 Following "The day of the Lord" When the wicked are cut off thou shall see the New Earth "wherein dwells righteousness" and nothing else but righteousness.
