1. Who was the first person to attain immortality?

And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him. Genesis 5:24.

By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. Hebrews 11:5.

2. Who was the second?

1 And after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, and brings them up into an high mountain apart, 2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. 3 And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elijah talking with him. Matthew 17:1-3.

3. Who was the third?

And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. 2 Kings 2:11.

4. Is man mortal or immortal by nature?

Shall mortal man be more just than God? Shall a man be more pure than his maker? Job 4:17-21.

5. Where does man stay prior to the Second Coming of Christ?

O that you would hide me in the grave, that you would keep me secret, until your wrath be past, that you would appoint me a set time, and remember me! Job 14:13.

6. Who is the source of life?

10 For you wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt you suffer your Holy One to see corruption. 11 Thou wilt show me the path of life: in your presence is fullness of joy; at your right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:10, 11.

He asked life of you, and you gave it him, even length of days for ever and ever. Psalm 21:4.

The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall live for ever. Psalm 22:26.

7. Where will the righteous spend eternity?

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever. Psalm 23:6.

8. Where must we look for eternal life?

Into your hand I commit my spirit: you has redeemed me, O LORD God of truth. Psalm 31:5.

For with you is the fountain of life: in your light shall we see light. Psalm 36:9.

9. What must we forsake to have eternal life?

18 The LORD knows the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever. 27 Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore. Psalm 37:18, 27.

10. Is the soul immortal or in need of redemption?

12. What will the redeemed sing in heaven?

1 David’s Psalm of praise. I will extol you, my God, O king; and I will bless your name for ever and ever. 2 Every day will I bless you; and I will praise your name for ever and ever. Proverbs 14:32.

13. What will happen to sin and death?

He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD has spoken it. Isaiah 25:8.

14. Will there be a resurrection form the grave?

Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, you that dwell in dust: for your dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead. Isaiah 26:19.

27. Who gives this life?

And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. John 10:28.

25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: 26 And whosoever lives and believeth in me shall never die. Believe you this? John 11:25, 26.

Yet a little while, and the world sees me no more; but you see me: because I live, you shall live also. John 14:19.

28. Who do we serve to obtain eternal life?

2 As you has given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as you has given him. 3 And this is life eternal, that they might know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you has sent. John 17:2, 3.

To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life. Romans 2:7.

22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, you have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. 23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:22, 23.

29. What happens at the resurrection?

51 Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. 55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? 1 Corinthians 15:51-55.

30. What power must we have in us?

For he that sows to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that sows to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. Galatians 6:8.

31. Where is our hope laid up?

For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof you heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel; 6 Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and brings forth fruit, as it does also in you, since the day you heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth. 13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that you sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18.

33. What happens to the wicked at the Second Coming?

7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, 8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: 9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power. 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9.

34. Who is the source of Immortality?

15 Which in his times he shall show, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; 16 Who only has immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man has seen, nor can see: to whom be honor and power everlasting. Amen. 1 Timothy 6:15-16.

9 Who has saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, 10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death, and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel. 2 Timothy 1:9, 10.

In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began. Titus 1:2.

That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. Titus 3:7.

And for this cause he is the mediator of the New Testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. Hebrews 9:15.

35. Whose resurrection saves us?

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy has begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fades not away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 1 Peter 1:3-5.

17 And the world passed away, and the lust thereof: but he that does the will of God abides for ever. 25 And this is the promise that he has promised us, even eternal life. 1 John 2:17, 25.

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may believe on the name of the Son of God. 1 John 5:13.

Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. Jude 1:21.

36. How many people will see the Second Coming of Christ?

Behold, he comes with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kingdoms of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. Revelation 1:7.

37. Where are the wicked sent at the Second Coming?

48 Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away. 49 So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, 50 And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Matthew 13:48-50

And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. Revelation 20:9

38. What is the final fate of the wicked?

12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. Revelation 20:12-15

39. What food in heaven will we eat?

He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit said unto the churches; To him that overcomes will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God. Revelation 2:7.

40. How good will heaven be?

14 And I said unto him, Sir, you know. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15 Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sits on the throne shall dwell among them. 16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. 17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead

them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes. Revelation 7:14-17.

3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. 5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. 6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. Revelation 21:3-6.
